FIGHTING GLOBAL WARMING AND CLIMATE CHANGE

PERIOD 1

CLIMATE ACTIVISTS STARTING OUT

3 weeks

As a Climate Activist you start out with two weeks at the school and one week of investigations in surrounding countries.  Your team trains its new responsibilities and experiencing common life at DRH Lindersvold.

PERIOD 2

DIGGING DEEPER INTO GLOBAL WARMING AND CLIMATE CHANGE

3 weeks

You learn the important and hard-hitting facts of climate change and learn it double by giving presentations and spreading information to many people.  Reaching the goals of the period and Running the School together are a main focus of the team

PERIOD 3

CUTTING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT

4 weeks

You train practically and theoretically by making your second Climate Action, and you will carry out a project with the concrete purpose of “CUTTING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT”.   You will also make a one week practice period at, for example, an organic farm or a windmill fatory for one week

PERIOD 4

ACTS OF PROTEST AND CHANGE

2 weeks

This short period brings you in touch with world wide as well as local ACTS OF PROTEST, and with it comes valuable understanding of this method’s use and limitations.  You will also take the first contact with Climate Activists bringing CHANGE in St. Vincent and consider your own future actions there.

PERIOD 5

PREPARING FOR ACTIONS WITH THE POOR

4 weeks

After three months you are able to lift bigger tasks - from this basis you study for, plan for and prepare CLIMATE ACTIONS to carry out with The Poor.

ST VINCENT

PERIOD 6

HITTING THE GROUND RUNNING

3 weeks

This short period is all about arriving well, being welcomed and quickly acclimatizing to become able and ready for the 9-week period 7 of fighting Global Warming and Climate Change with The Poor.

PERIOD 7

FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE WITH THE POOR

9 weeks

FIGHTING CLIMATE CHANGE WITH THE POOR is what this period is all about.  You will use your combined skills and experiences to reach everything that was planned, including getting ready to tell about it afterwards. This period is about creating sustainable, environmental CHANGE that lasts.

OPEN FUTURE

8 weeks

You will spread knowledge, awareness as well as the knowhow about the practical ways and means of making positive change concerning sustainable environmental issues.  The message must be brought to people everywhere that Fighting Global Warming and Climate Change with The Poor is possible, is needed and is happening right now.
