DI - May Team 2014

May Team

My name is Vanessa and I´m from Spain. I´m currently studying in “another kind of school” in Lindersvold, which belong to "One World Center" and which main aim is to prepare people to fight with the poor in different developing countries, like Africa or India. I thought it could be interesting to share six month living with other people who has the same ambitions and concern or worries that I have, regarding with other life styles based in sustainability. The main reason why I chose to join this program was to meet some people who have also the willing to go to some developing countries and give a help in those countries, trying to make the life of those “poor” people a little bit better. I think volunteering is interesting, not just to help in the best way you can, but also to realize how lucky we are, and how many little worries and unnecessary complains are taking over our thoughts every single day; Ii think it’s a good way also to change our mind and start to appreciate what we have.

JorgeJorge Cosme

Hi my name is Jorge, I’m 56 years old, and came from Portugal.
I choose this Programme because I am a passionate man who loves challanges.
Since I was very young I desired to be part of a volunteer project but my life turned out differently.
The crisis in Portugal changed my life..
Suddenly, I had to start my life all over again.
I was invited to a party where my friends Joaquim and Isabel told me about their DI experiences in Mozambique and education in Lindersvold.
So I knew that my old dream can become true and I applied for the 18 Month Programme.

AndreaAndrea Cucchi

My name is Andrea.  I'm from Italy and I'm 2x26 years old:-)
I worked 21 years as a Truck driver in Italy in my Factory.
I had to close my factory because of the crisis in Italy so I was looking for new opportunities. That’s how I found this School in Denmark.
I started the 18 Month Programme in May. I worked 8 months in Denmark as a driver for clothes collection and this helped me get to know very well this country. It was a great experience, I loved my job.  I live in the school together with other students who come from all over the world. In December I travel to Malawi, for an agriculture project together with Jorge my team mate and I’m sure it will be an unforgettable experience of my life.
