DNS - Team 2016

indre

Indre

Labas! I am 22 and my name is Indrė but I prefer being called Indie. Indrė is kinda a regular girl who went to university after school but when on one of her hitch-hiking across Europe trips she decided to stay in UK and drop out from uninspiring program. This was where Indie was born and the true, adventurous story began, involving travelling, volunteering, living in different alternative communities, squatting, etc. This story still continues especially now that I have enrolled in DNS Teacher´s Training College. I have been thinking about joining the team for a year after randomly finding DNS website on the internet. So far I can definitely say that it was worth it and I can´t wait to start the program after finishing my saving-up period!

sara

Sara

Hello there! My name is Sara de Almeida, I just turned 19 years old and come from sunny Portugal. I'm joining DNS this September and will be a part of team DNS 2016. I found out about this alternative education earlier this year, in March, and chose to go in that direction, because I've seen what the present society holds for his people and wanted a more worthy and sane life for myself and the environment. At Tvind, Nature and people are respected and actually work together. That, for me, is priceless.

madalina

Madalina

Hi people, I'm Madalina! I consider myself a cosmopolitan person, I feel and enjoy the place where I am at the moment, doesn't matter where I've been before and where I'll go afterwards. I try to not have any prejudices from the culture I come from and neither limit myself in just one of those. I'm fluent like a river, exploring lands and challenging the versatility of human being. Nevertheless I have two shores that guide me: one is my family and the other one my principles. Let's come to DNS! I'm here for two main simple reasons: learn how to face life and do what I like. I hope many passionate people will join our team, DNS 2016!

simona

Simona

Hey folks! My name is Simona. I am 24, born and raised in Lithuania. Generally speaking, I am a person, who loves to travel, meet new people and keep on exploring. In my opinion, DNS has the whole package! Therefore, I have just recently enrolled into DNS Teacher´s Training College and became one of the members of DNS 2016 team. After receiving my psychology bachelor degree, I took a gap year as an option to purify the idea where exactly I want to move to from that point, as there were a lot various psychology branches I was interested in. So, I left my country. Went to another continent and dived deeply into this experience at the very first moment. Afterwards, I volunteered and worked with kids, just like always wanted, and apparently that was as an eye opening experience for me. Not only I understood that one or another contribution to education is a meaningful and somehow changing thing to do, but at the same time noticed that there are too many old methods, framing, controlling and lack of circumstances suitable for gaining new skills, trying and erring, learning from unlucky trials and not being ashamed of that. I strongly believe that this must change. So, I am ready to embrace this crazy DNS experience to the fullest and learn how to make this world a better place to live and grow, even if it would be a matter of one human being.

reka

Reka

Hi! My name is Réka. I'm 23 years old and I come from Hungary. I decided to leave behind my ordinary life because I always felt missing out something, that's why I joined DNS Teacher Training College. I didn' t want to just read about the world anymore. I wanted to see as much as I can with my own eyes and live a creative, adventouros life. I decided to follow my dreams and start travelling. This is how the big adventure started. So far I really enjoy my time here: the alternative education model, getting to know world issues, experiencing solidarity, adventures, creativity in a big colourful international team. I feel the start of big changes and a life challenging experience is very near...This is what DNS means for me at the moment and this is just the beginning.... I believe that together we can do something usefull and step by step we can change something in the world and make a better life for us and for the next generations.

jevgenij

Jevgenij

Hey there, my name is Jevgenij but since I moved abroad I have met quite a few people that could not pronounce my name properly, therefore I tell everyone to call me simply Jay. I am originally from Belarus, but I am holding a Lithuanian passport. I am a nice guy, who really enjoys listening to music like anyone else. When I have enough time I like to turn into a bookworm. If you like Remarque then we will probably find a common language. On the other hand, I really like sports like scuba-diving, swimming, jogging and simply gym workouts. In terms of personality I just have no idea how to describe myself. Let's say, I am a person with individual thoughts and views. Why DNS? At some point I wanted to change something in my life, like majority of people that actually join this program. I would like to start from developing myself, helping others to step forward, seeing how the world changes for the better. Welcome to DNS.
